PhotoShare: Little Egret in breeding plumage

I have totally been neglecting my blog this last month, since I posted my "Top 20 for 2011" photos.
I am swamped with a lot of work and photography and family related issues at the moment, but thought I might as well just pop a PhotoShare on here in lieu of nothing else to post at this time.

I captured this image recently in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Pretoria, South Africa. It was a dreary overcast morning so the light was nicely diffused, but I also couldn't get a nice catchlight in the eye of the egret.

Note the purple colouration on the beak.
